Okey, herhalde herşey ama Milk Gallery‘de ki sergi o kadar ‘cool’ ki herkezi serinletir! ‘Stories’ bir kaç genç Türk sanatçının işlerini sergiliyor: Bora Başkan, Gökhan Okur, Ufuk Atan, Merve Morkoç ve Ayşe Küçük. Sergi 2 Temmuz’da başladı ve 20 Ağustos’a kadar devam edecek. Sakın kaçırmayın ve unutmayın Milk sadece galleri değil, süper güzel Lomography fotoğraf makineleri ve Ndeur ayakkabıları da var!!
Ain’t nothing more refreshing like Milk on a hot summer’s day (okay, perhaps Ayran or a Solero Twister), but with an exhibition like this Milk Gallery is the place to visit. ‘Stories’ is all about the work of several Turkish artists that have made, or will do so in the near future, their international break throughs: Bora Başkan, Gökhan Okur, Ufuk Atan, Merve Morkoç and Ayşe Küçük. The exhibition started the 2nd of July and is going on till the 20th of August. Yes, we know it’s warm, but this gallery is nice and cool. So are the people running it and the art on the wall, so you better pay Milk a visit! And don’t forget to bring your checkbooks, because there’s also a lot of stuff you can buy here (like Lomo’s, Ndeur shoes, and much more)!!
Dazed Digital ve G-Star Raw dünyanın her yerindeki yaratıcı blog yazarlarına bir yarışma açmış. Tabii ki biz de bu Dazed Raw Best Blog of 2009 yarışına katılmak istiyoruz ama bizi içten heyecanlandıran asıl bu kadar fazla yeni blog’la tanışmak oldu. İnternet ne güzel bir şeymiş be!!!
Dazed Digital is giving credit to all of us who have been trying to add something interesting to the digital world through their own blogs. Of course we hope that we’ll get selected to the select blogs that will go for the title of Dazed Raw Best Blog of 2009! But more importantly is the spreading of the love for all the nominated blogs and the amount of crazy creative and inventive stuff that is being posted. You gotta love the Internet!
Pabuc!’un ilk başladığı gün de beri sanki Sokak sanatı ve modasına daha fazla ilgi varmış gibi! Tabii bunun bizle hiç bir alakası olmadığını bilsek bile, sizlere hatırlatmak istedik. Her neyse, işte yeni (o kadar yeni sayılmaz çünkü 12 Haziran’dan beri açıkmış zaten) bir sergi: Morphosis! Otuza yakın sokak sanatçıya eski, tozlu, büyük bir binada yer verilince bakınız ne çıkıyor. Bir birinden güzel ver yaratıcı işleri görmek için 12 Temmuz’a kadar zamanınız var! Daha fazla bilgi için Facebook a bakın! En önemlisi tabii ki bedava olması. Sokak çocukların parası mı olur?!
Since the arrival of Pabuc! Istanbul has changed a lot. Although this has nothing to do with us, we still like to see some kind of inexplicable correlation between the large interest in street art and fashion, and of course the birth of this blog a year ago! That being said we take a look at an extraordinary exhibition that has even caught the eye of the New York Times: ‘Morphosis’. Around thirty Turkish street artists showcase their skills in the humongous and extremely street-dusty ‘Banker Han’ building in the Galata area. The exhibition has been open since the 12th of June and will continue till the 12th of July. Check out their Facebook Page for more info! And just so you know, it’s FREE!

Bu sergi de 100′den fazla işi var ve bunların arasında 70′den fazlasi yeni. Kariyerinde ki en büyük sergi olacak ve bugün, 13 Haziran 2009′dan itibaren, 12 hafta boyunca sergilenecek! It’s been a while since our last post about the world’s biggest modern artist, Banksy, but thanks to High Snobiety we just found out that the BBC has some nice footage from the Banksy vs. Bristol Museum exhibtion that is opening today, the 13th of June! With more than 100 pieces and of these more than 70 new ones, this is the biggest, the hottest, the sexiest, the raunchiest, the unmissablest (yep, that’s a word….now!) exhibition of Banksy to date and we urge everybody from the States to Iran, from Zanzibar to Argentinia to go to Bristol within the next twelve weeks and check this out!

Alain Clark, Remy Shand, ve Musiq Soulchild gibi sanatçıları aklımıza getiren Bora Uzer‘in ilk solo albümü çıktı! B1 adını taşıyan bu soulful ve funky parçalarla dolu olan albüm bizi hemen Bora hayranına dönüştürdü! Bora’yı çoğunuz ‘Kangroove’dan tanırsınız, ama şimdi tek başına da güzel müzik yapabildiğini ispatladı.
On iki şarkının sekizi Türkçe öbür dördüde Ingilizce. Kullağamızı özellikle okşıyan parçalar sa ‘Optical Illusion’ (Hollanda’lı rapper Jay Colin‘le beraber), ‘Yalan Dolan’, ‘Aramizda Bir Gerginlik Mi Var?’ ve ‘Bundan Sonra Boyle’ Kenan Dogulu‘yla beraber. Bora Beyi canlı görmek için Efes Pilsen One Love Festival‘in ilk gününe bilet alın (gidiyorsanız bari ikinci gün için neden bilet alımıyorsunuz)! Oh ve Estelle‘le beraber Almanya’da 5000 kişinin önünde muhteşem bir show verdiğini söylemişmiydik?!! Boy be dope!
The Turkish Alain Clark, who on his turn is the Dutch Remy Shand, who again is the Canadian Musiq Soulchild, who just is American. Bora Uzer has released the funkiest and most soulful Turkish album in… ever!! With the horns, guitar riffs, nice beats and positive lyrics he made Pabuc! an immediate fan. Some readers might know him from his former project ‘Kangroove’, but ‘B1′ is Bora’s first solo album.
Eight songs are in Turkish and four of them are in English. The Turkish ones are amazingly good and in a style I haven’t heard before by a Turkish artist, the English tracks are pretty good as well. Some of the English lyrics sound a bit goofy here and there and feel a bit ‘made’, but one of the best songs on the album is actually an English one. The track ‘Optical Illusion’ features Dutch rapper Jay Colin and gives that Pete Philly & Perquisite vibe. Other must-have-on-your-iPod tracks from B1 are ‘Yalan Dolan’, ‘Aramizda Bir Gerginlik Mi Var?’ and ‘Bundan Sonra Boyle’ featuring Turkish pop star Kenan Dogulu.
If you want to see him live don’t miss Efes Pilsen One Love Festival day 2 (and while you’re at it go to day 1 as well)! Oh, and did we mention he performed with no other than Estelle in Germany for 5000 people?!!! Boy be dope!
9 Nisan’da başlayan ve 20’sine kadar devam eden ‘New Streetworks’ sergisi Sid Lee Collective‘in Amsterdam’da ki galerilerinde Dan Witz‘in ‘New Streetworks’unu yer veriyor! Tam Collective gibi, Mr. Witz’de orijinal ve yaratıcı bir şekide bizleri şaşırtıp düşündüren sanat yapmayı başarmış! Fotoğrafları sticker üzerine yapıp ve onu da plastikle kaplayıp binalara yapıştıran Witz’in sergisini Amsterdam’daysanız sakın kaçırmayıın!
From April 9th on the Sid Lee Collective in Amsterdam (do check their awesome website out) will host Dan Witz’s ‘New Streetworks’ exhibit! Just like the Collective, Mr. Witz has also found a way to surprise in an original and creative way. The stuff being shown at this show consists of photo-based, re-painted stickers mounted on plastic and glued onto buildings! If you’re in Amsterdam check it out before they pack it up on the 20th of April!

Adidas sokak sanat severlerine güzel bir iPhone uygulamasi çıkartıyor! 20 Mart’ta çikacak olan bu bedava app ilk olarak Berlin’de ki sokak sanatın nerde olduğunu iPhone da görebiliyorsunuz ve isterseniz fotoları indirip arkadaşlarınızla paylaşabiliryorsunuz! Adidas is dropping this amazing looking iPhone app that will also see a launch party at the 20th of March in Berlin! The free app is a guide to all the urban art spots in Berlin and gives you the possibility to look up the location and the pics of street art in the area and then download or share these with friends. We’ve heard from the people behind it, that they are also looking to make the app global so maybe we’ll be doing the Istanbul content! Check the movie out here!

The Cut&Paste crew is touring the globe (unfortunately no Istanbul yet, but we’re aiming to be part of the 2010 tour) and this year their line-up consists of 2D, 3D, and Motion Design in sixteen cities worldwide. It’s like a rap battle, but then designers have 20 minutes to kick each other’s ass live on stage! Yes, it’s cool as ice and we want to be part of it! New this year is the global championship taking place in NYC and there all 48 winners will battle each other!
