- Who are you and what do you do?
I’m just a regular guy who loves to drink vodka, make tunes, watch Will Ferrell comedies and start mayhem in strangers’ kitchens. I’m an all time student, but not a very good one. Been kicked out of 3 universities and now I’m just killing time in Istanbul to find a new university to be kicked out soon. Havin’ the best time prolly, nothin’ to do; I can just make tunes and drink all day, Vida Loca I guess!
- So how did you get started in the bizz?
As a usual deejay story I used to be in rock-indie-metal bands. Then I sold my guitars for synthesizers and turntables. Not very original but it’s one of the awesome recipes of ‘electronic music to rock to’ concept. When I was 18, I started hating the music that deejays were playing at the clubs I was hanging out, so I lied my way around that I can play at some club nites. I used to play indie rock’n'roll at that time but he BPMs and the dance moves of indie kids bored the fuck out of me so I started playing electronic music. Fuck yeah boi. Thinkin bout sellin my soul to devil for crazy-synth-skillz. So if he’s reading, he should contact you.
- Do you have DJs you look up to or take as an example?
I’m not obsessively takin someone as an example, coz cliche but everyone’s different and no need to follow the footsteps of someone else. However I love the style of Alexander Ridha (the guy behind Boys Noize), creativitiy of Xavier de Rosnay (one of the monsieurs from Justice) and productivity of Erol Alkan. German artist Thoma Marecki (Marok) has gained a lot of street cred because of his graffiti and his work at Lodown Magazine. That’s probably the reason why Nike asked him to part of the NIke 1World Air Force 1 sneaker pimping shizzle. If you like his design you can buy it at Nort Berlin on the 13th of December!
