I’ve had bad experiences with BulBul in the past and I wanted to share them with my readers in the way I like to write and talk. Apparently the webdesigner of the site and the people from BulBul have seen this and weren’t too happy with it. They have threatened to sue me so I’m hereby appologizing to the company and everybody that works there. You are all human and you try the best you can. I have to accept that people are just creatures with limited capabilities and that even I am not perfect. I make mistakes too and I hope you will forgive me for that.
My comments on BulBul were exaggerated and insulting. The core is of course the same. Your product does look like a copy and the name sounds like a copy too. On your website it is really funny in my opinion that every page has content but your brand and concept page, where you can say who you are and what you as a company want to carry out, is empty. The rest is, and this I mean sincerely, over the top and cruel. I take it back.
If you have any other complaints, please let me know and don’t threaten me with lawsuits. One e-mail with a polite request will suffice in the future.

Arabada navigasyon kullanan herkes TomTom markasını biliyor. Şimdi bizim millette bunun bir de bir kopyasını yapıp BulBul‘u çıkartmışlar! Marka ve konsept sayfasına baktığınızda ne kadar salak oldukları belli oluyor. Kendi domainlerini bile alamamışlar, haha! Her neyse, TomTom yakında iPhone app’le gelip bu kakalakları ezip geçer!
Everybody that uses car navigation knows Dutch navigation manufacturer TomTom, but now there is a Turkish rip-off called BulBul (which translates into ‘FindFind’). Just take a look at their brand and concept on their site and you know that these dweebs are not only bad at ripping off other people, but simply can’t come up with anything on their own. They were so stupid they couldn’t even register their own brand name bulbul.com! Anyways, TomTom remains the best car navigation manufacturer and since they’re now also working on an iPhone TomTom app, soon I’ll be using it while walking down the maze-like Istanbul streets!

Okey, herhalde herşey ama Milk Gallery‘de ki sergi o kadar ‘cool’ ki herkezi serinletir! ‘Stories’ bir kaç genç Türk sanatçının işlerini sergiliyor: Bora Başkan, Gökhan Okur, Ufuk Atan, Merve Morkoç ve Ayşe Küçük. Sergi 2 Temmuz’da başladı ve 20 Ağustos’a kadar devam edecek. Sakın kaçırmayın ve unutmayın Milk sadece galleri değil, süper güzel Lomography fotoğraf makineleri ve Ndeur ayakkabıları da var!!
Ain’t nothing more refreshing like Milk on a hot summer’s day (okay, perhaps Ayran or a Solero Twister), but with an exhibition like this Milk Gallery is the place to visit. ‘Stories’ is all about the work of several Turkish artists that have made, or will do so in the near future, their international break throughs: Bora Başkan, Gökhan Okur, Ufuk Atan, Merve Morkoç and Ayşe Küçük. The exhibition started the 2nd of July and is going on till the 20th of August. Yes, we know it’s warm, but this gallery is nice and cool. So are the people running it and the art on the wall, so you better pay Milk a visit! And don’t forget to bring your checkbooks, because there’s also a lot of stuff you can buy here (like Lomo’s, Ndeur shoes, and much more)!!

It’s not uncommon that graphic designers/street artists turn their art into succesfull clothing brands. You already had Obey, Stussy and Sixpack France, but now you can add a new name to that list: Pimpalicious. This group of creative designers is led by a good friend of ours, Ceizer aka Piet Pimpel, and they are getting ready to drop their Fall/Winter collection for the the two-double-O-nine! We already had a sneak-peek and it’s going to be sick like tyfus! Check the vid Lisa Love made with her phone to promote it and to spread some positivity on the streets of Damsko! The gear is going to be available in a week or so at their webshop and of course instore at Lastik Pabuc!

Now one of our good friends in Amsterdam, Geert, has told us about this amazing site called The Auteurs, where you can watch hard-to-find Arthouse flicks online! I know some of you old farts are complaining now that the computer is ruining our life and nobody goes outside, but then why the f&#k are you reading this blog. Go read some number plates outside! Anyhoo, sign up, log in, and watch till your depressed by all the Belgian and Korean movies that focus on death and loneliness!
Mimar Deger Cengiz endustriyel tasarımcı olarak New York’ta büyük ilgi görüyor. ‘Best Seats on Broadway’ sergisine seçilen Cengiz ‘Lawn Chaise’ sandalyesiyle tasarım dünyasına yeni bir güzellik kattı! Deger Bey, Teşekkürler!
Architect and New York-based designer Deger Cengiz came up with an original way of showing his love for lanwmowers, grass and of course loungin’! The ‘Lawn Chaise’ was part of the ‘Best Seats on Broadway’ exhibition and Mr. Cengiz’s work is also part of the Red Dot Design Museum. For this beautiful addition to the design world, we would like to give some props to Deger Abi!

Pabuc!’un ilk başladığı gün de beri sanki Sokak sanatı ve modasına daha fazla ilgi varmış gibi! Tabii bunun bizle hiç bir alakası olmadığını bilsek bile, sizlere hatırlatmak istedik. Her neyse, işte yeni (o kadar yeni sayılmaz çünkü 12 Haziran’dan beri açıkmış zaten) bir sergi: Morphosis! Otuza yakın sokak sanatçıya eski, tozlu, büyük bir binada yer verilince bakınız ne çıkıyor. Bir birinden güzel ver yaratıcı işleri görmek için 12 Temmuz’a kadar zamanınız var! Daha fazla bilgi için Facebook a bakın! En önemlisi tabii ki bedava olması. Sokak çocukların parası mı olur?!
Since the arrival of Pabuc! Istanbul has changed a lot. Although this has nothing to do with us, we still like to see some kind of inexplicable correlation between the large interest in street art and fashion, and of course the birth of this blog a year ago! That being said we take a look at an extraordinary exhibition that has even caught the eye of the New York Times: ‘Morphosis’. Around thirty Turkish street artists showcase their skills in the humongous and extremely street-dusty ‘Banker Han’ building in the Galata area. The exhibition has been open since the 12th of June and will continue till the 12th of July. Check out their Facebook Page for more info! And just so you know, it’s FREE!
